Subsurface Signals brings together a series of works that reference historical systems of encoded communication, where information is concealed within visual structure. Drawing from sources such as early radio transmissions, covert mapping strategies, textile-based signaling traditions, and foundational binary systems, the images translate methods of hidden messaging into layered visual fields.
Each piece appears as a fragment from an archive of human attempts to send meaning across distance, time, and uncertainty. Signals remain partially obscured, embedded, or eroded, suggesting that communication is never purely transparent, but always shaped by material, context, and interpretation.
